DRABPE is focused on supporting this emerging community by helping Black-owned businesses in Durham gain access to the resources they need to thrive. We provide frequent networking opportunities to help our members get connected to local decision-makers, service providers, and potential customers.
DRABPE focuses on the Durham Region and collaborates with other Black business organizations to help increase the wallet of Durham Region-based entrepreneurs and professionals.
In February 2022, DRABPE launched the 'black youth career launch program' with the goal to engage and support the academic development of black youth in Durham with the hopes that this experience would propel them into their next steps whether it be post-secondary or the workforce. The program focused on STEMM-based courses and opportunities, mentorship, and job shadowing. 16 students graduated from the program in August 2023.
We launched First Fridays Durham in June 2023, giving Black professionals and entrepreneurs networking opportunities in their backyard.
Through membership dues, funding from the provincial, municipal, and federal governments, financial institutions, universities, and partners like you.

DRABPE staged monthly First Friday events and has a number of learning events scheduled for 2023-24. Our newest initiative "At the Table" is our newest networking event, with its opening on September 10th.
